The historic Bell Building in Detroit, has been acquired by Focus Hope and Neighborhood Service Organization, two nationally renowned community services providers. Renovations for the Art Deco landmark include extensive landscaping, roof terraces, large green roofs and stormwater management. A showcase for sustainable building practices in the region, the project combines building technology and sustainable landscapes in a facility designed to serve and empower people living in the community. An overall vision for joining innovative sustainability technologies with opportunities for learning and connecting people to green jobs training is the foundation for realizing a strong locally based renaissance of the East Oakman Neighborhood.
